Question by ddb: Pinto beans are still hard after cooking in smoker for 12 hrs and separately for 12 hrs in a Crock Pot. Why?

The beans were not dry and did cook for 24 consecutive hrs. Maybe too old?

Answer by Salvatoreyou have to soak them over night first or there was not enough liquid.
